Visiting us with your school
Whether as a supplement to lessons or as a first visit to a museum: our exhibitions bring historical topics to life in a fun and engaging way. Guided tours for all age groups and school types, as well as teaching resources for teachers, round off what we have to offer.
Things to discover
Guided tours
We offer themed guided tours of our current and upcoming exhibitions for all school groups and age groups. If you have any questions, our visitor services team will be happy to help.
Compact tour: Accompanied by a guide, you’ll explore the exhibition during a 60-minute tour.
Interactive tour: As well as the guided tour, the programme includes the chance to try out interactive stations within the exhibition. This tour is therefore particularly well suited to school classes and nursery groups.

Groups without a guided tour
You and your class are, of course, very welcome to visit even without a guided tour. However, please do register your group, even if you haven’t booked a guided tour. This makes planning easier for us, particularly on busy days. You can easily register by emailing our visitor services team.

Getting here
By public transport
The museum is easily accessible by public transport, which is also environmentally friendly. The number 561 bus runs from Speyer Central Station / the station forecourt to our stop ‘Domplatz/Speyer’. Click here for public transport timetables.
By coach
Access to the museum is signposted on all main roads in the Speyer area. Coaches can park in a specially designated area at the nearby fairground (P7, Geibstraße 1). Coaches pay a fee of €5 per hour or a flat daily rate of €20. It is only a few minutes’ walk from the fairground to the museum entrance.
The fairground is occasionally used as an events venue; please check the current situation and possible alternative parking options before travelling, for example via the City of Speyer’s website.
Detailed information on how to get here can be found on this page
