Visiting the museum with children and family

You are welcome to bring your own food and drink to consume in our picnic area. Unfortunately, eating and drinking are not permitted in the exhibition galleries.

The cloakroom and lockers are clearly signposted within the museum. Please do not take bulky or wet items such as umbrellas, rainwear, rucksacks and carrier bags into the exhibition galleries. These items are best left in a locker or the cloakroom (deposit: 1 euro).

Shopping bags larger than A4 size (approx. 21 x 30 cm) must also be stored in a locker. Backpacks the size of a handbag up to A4 are permitted, provided they are carried over the shoulder.

Our staff are always happy to assist with any queries. The Historical Museum of the Palatinate accepts no liability for items handed in or left in storage.

There is step-free access to the museum via the side entrance. When standing in front of the museum, it is on the left-hand side. Signs indicate the direction. There is a bell at the side entrance; our staff will be happy to open the door for you!
