From Speyer Central Station/‘Bahnhofsvorplatz’ stop: take the 561 bus to the ‘Domplatz/Speyer’ stop.
On weekdays, the bus runs every 10 minutes until 8 pm. At weekends, bus 561 runs every 10 minutes until 6 pm.

Car parks

Großen Pfaffengasse (right next to the museum): three parking spaces for people with disabilities.

Alternative: Festplatz/Speyer (200 metres from the museum).

Please note: The Festplatz is a hard-sand surface, which is generally easy to drive on, but may present difficulties for wheelchair users depending on the weather. In this case, the car parks in Große Pfaffengasse are preferable.

Museum entrance

When standing in front of the museum, the step-free entrance is on the left-hand side of the museum building. Signs indicate the direction. There is a bell at the side entrance; our staff will be happy to open the door for you and accompany you to the museum ticket office and the exhibition rooms.

Exhibition rooms

All exhibition rooms are accessible without steps. The only exceptions are the last two rooms in the left wing of the Wine Museum, which cannot be altered due to their listed status. We thank you for your understanding.

Wheelchairs and folding chairs are available to hire from us.
The toilet for people with disabilities is located on the ground floor near the lockers.

Access to all areas of the museum is permitted with certified assistance dogs, provided they are properly identified. Please bring the relevant identification with you.

You are welcome to eat and drink food and drink you have brought with you in our picnic area. Eating and drinking in the exhibitions is not permitted.

To access the cloakroom and lockers, please follow the signs within the museum.

In accordance with the museum regulations, please do not take bulky or wet items such as umbrellas, rainwear, rucksacks and carrier bags into the exhibition rooms. These items must be stored in a locker or at the cloakroom (deposit: 1 euro).

Shopping bags larger than DIN A3 (approx. 30 x 42 cm) must also be stored in a locker. Backpacks the size of a handbag up to DIN A4 are permitted, provided they are carried over the shoulder.

If in doubt, please ask a member of staff. The Historical Museum of the Palatinate accepts no liability for items handed in or left in storage.

Hotel Speyer at the Technik Museum

Groups of 15 or more can stay in comfort at the Hotel Speyer am Technik Museum. The hotel is situated approximately 800 metres’ walk from the Historical Museum of the Palatinate. The site also features a caravan park with 117 pitches for motorhomes and caravans.
