Unique objects on display such as the oldest still liquid grape wine in the world offer a view into into the cultural history of viticulture and wine consumption over the last 2000 years. Large wine presses, barrels and old bottling equipment document vintners work. A giant wooden wine press from 1727 has imposing dimensions. It has stood in the museum for one hundred years. Room was made for it when the new museum building was built in 1910 and it still stands on the same spot.
