Collection exhibitions

We presented the rich cultural heritage of the Palatinate in our collection exhibitions until 2019. These include world-famous pieces such as the centaur head from Schwarzenacker, the Golden Hat from Schifferstadt and the procession to Hambach Castle. However, the collection exhibitions "Prehistory", "Roman times" and "Modern times" currently have to remain closed due to extensive renovation work.
The background to this is the renovation of our extension building, which the Historical Museum of the Palatinate will be carrying out over the next few years. At the end of the project, you can expect a modern new building with a comprehensively redesigned permanent exhibition.
The renowned firm Wandel Lorch Götze Wach from Frankfurt am Main was awarded the contract for the renovation of the extension building in an architectural competition in 2024. We are now in the process of taking the next steps.
Until then, our non-exhibited objects can often be seen outside our museum - if you want to know where, just subscribe to our newsletter or check out our Facebook page! We look forward to reopening the collection exhibitions together with you in the near future!
