Robin Hood
The interactive family exhibition was on display at the Historical Museum of the Palatinate from 12 November 2017 to 3 June 2018 and delighted around 60,000 visitors of all ages.
What child doesn't know him, the ingenious archer Robin Hood! He is daring, cunning and charming, full of humour, brave and helpful.
The family exhibition "Robin Hood", conceived by the Young Museum Speyer, was on display at the Museum of Art and Cultural History in Dortmund until 19 April 2020.
The presentation was aimed at children aged five and over, families and young-at-heart adults who enjoy exploring the legend with all their senses and immersing themselves in the world of the Middle Ages. On an area of around 1,000 square metres, detailed and stage-like activity areas showcased Sherwood Forest, Nottingham Market Square, Nottingham Castle and St Mary's Abbey. Many hands-on stations invited visitors to slip into the role of the rebels themselves, explore the mysterious forest and storm the castle where the unloved Prince John reigns in Lionheart's absence.
They clearly experienced the gulf between the common people, who lived in the city or in simple farmhouses in the countryside, and the rich upper class, who lived in magnificent halls and cosy bower houses.
40 years of PLAYMOBIL
The major anniversary exhibition was on display at the Historical Museum of the Palatinate from 1 December 2013 to 2 November 2014. A total of around 211,000 visitors saw the exhibition, which was extended twice due to the high demand.
After that, "40 years of PLAYMOBIL. An Adventure Journey through Time" - like its predecessor exhibition to mark the company's thirtieth anniversary, which was shown at the Historical Museum of the Palatinate in 2004 - went on tour. The Koblenz State Museum in the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress was the next stop for the anniversary exhibition from 29 March to 31 October 2015, followed by the Braunschweig State Museum from 21 November 2015 to 20 February 2016 and the Maxipark in Hamm from 18 March 2016 to 25 September 2016.
It made a guest appearance at the Limburgs Museum in Venlo, the Netherlands, until 27 August 2017.
The large-scale PLAYMOBIL staging of the "Train to Hambach Castle", which was made especially for the special exhibition by the Belgian collector Bruno Peeters, has been on display at Hambach Castle near Neustadt an der Weinstraße since 20 March 2015.
