Demo exhibition

What does King Ludwig I have to do with the y in Speyer? Why did he build his summer residence in Edenkoben and what connects the Bavarian king with the Palatinate in the first place? The cultural-historical exhibition King Ludwig I. Longing for the Palatinate is dedicated to Ludwig's close relationship with the Palatinate, which began in his childhood. Starting with his childhood and early youth in Mannheim and Rohrbach, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the region, which had been part of Bavaria since 1816.
In addition to works of art from the 18th and 19th centuries, excerpts from Ludwig's self-penned poems and contemporary correspondence offer a very private insight into the monarch's life. Media offerings round off the exhibition and give visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in Ludwig I's reign.

„Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you do, you will be successful.“
