Please note: Because of construction work the wine museum is currently closed until approx. March 2024

Unique objects on display such as the oldest still liquid grape wine in the world offer a view into into the cultural history of viticulture and wine consumption over the last 2000 years. Large wine presses, barrels and old bottling equipment document vintners work. A giant wooden wine press from 1727 has imposing dimensions. Room was made for it when the new museum building was built in 1910. The wine press stood in the courtyard until 1987, was then dismantled and rebuilt in 1989 in the wine museum and still stands in this spot. The floor level of the room was therefore lowered by about 2 m. It has stood in the museum for more than one hundred years.
